Simulation of Heavy Metals Migration in Soil of Rare Earth Mining Area

The study of heavy metal interactions with soils under specific climatic circumstances might lead to a better understanding migration and provide further information for local pollution control. In this work, we collected soil samples from the world's largest light rare earth mining district, Bayan Obo mine assessed content in at various depths. extraction effectiveness Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) metals surface were compared. Furthermore, studied longitudinal transport precipitation conditions using simulated experiments kinetic fitting. We discovered that pH has significant impact on release. Precipitation easily transports Zn, Pb, Cr deeper layers soil. modified Elvoich equation could describe release patterns.
